Big News!

Our family is growing! By God’s leading, Michael and I have decided to open our hearts and our home to a baby boy who is due to be born near the end of April. Over the holidays, a young woman who is in a crisis pregnancy (Michael’s younger ½ sister) asked if we would adopt her unborn child. While this story is filled with great complexity, we found ourselves propelled by the opportunity to provide a loving home to another child, and we thank God for the means and grace to do so. Being a domestic adoption, we are, in a sense, holding our breath until everything is finalized after the birth. We are very proud of the birthmother for making the courageous decision to carry this child and to make an adoption plan. I can’t begin to imagine the road she has ahead of her. If you can remember to do so, please keep her in your prayers. You can pray for us, too….. Two under two – yikes! Two kids in 9 months – double yikes!!

We remain confident that God will hold and sustain us in this time of transition; “that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)

Heather~ What an incredible and unexpected blessing from God... both for your family and this precious little guy! I'll be praying that everything goes smoothly and will look forward to hearing updates. Boys really are SO fun, and having 2 kids close together is a blast as well. Our bio kids are 19 months apart and get along so well! We also avoided a lot of the sibling rivalry with Alyssa since she was too little to really understand it all. I'm sure Sarah will adjust well too and enjoy having her own live "doll" to play with!
