Vietnam Heritage Weekend

After six months of planning, Dillon International's inaugural Vietnam Heritage/Camp Weekend happened last Friday and Saturday. We were completely spent after the fact, but Sarah and our family had so much fun. About forty local and out of town Dillon families attended - even from Alaska and North Carolina. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to "meet" and visit with other moms I have gotten to know through blogging (which is really a strange thing to make friends through blogs and then meet in person only to realize that you are sort of still strangers to each other). Here is a small sampling of the pictures from the weekend.

Sarah sitting with her one of her favorite people, Luke - plus new friends Hillary and Sophie Le.

Avi Joy and Sarah wearing adorable polka dots.

Eli and Rhett making a VN flag.

Sarah's buddy Eli.

Avi Joy and Sophie Le at the rice dig.

Members of the local Vietnamese church came out to support us.

Lucy was my little buddy (for a while).

Dori Grace - the littlest 'little peanut' I've ever met.

Sarah working on a conical hat with Nana.

Emma working on a lantern.

Mini-reunion with Susie's girls..... Ella was adopted at the same time as Avi Joy and Sarah. Hannah is the big sister who traveled with her mom in our travel group.

Hannah, Sarah and Ella hang out at the house after camp.

It's quarter to 9pm and Hannah is in the kitchen helping Michael clean up all the dinner dishes.

Looks like you guys had a great time. Mandy said it was great. I love seeing the pictures of the kids reunited. Those are such special times!

Wonderful pictures! I just love seeing everyone together. I am still so sad that we had to miss it this year, but next year we will definitely come down! Hannah helping with the dishes is just the cutest thing ever.

By the way, and this is totally off-topic, but I really love the red walls with your white cabinets. Everytime I see a picture I think about painting my kitchen red. It looks so great!

Looks like all of you had a wonderful time. We hope to be there next year with Bennett.

Thanks for sharing your pictures. I feel like I know all of the kids, though I've never met any of them (except Sophie Le which was in Ninh Thuan when we got Rocco). Hopefully we can make it out next year!

Oh the "rice dig"...I don't know if that poor church will ever be the same!

We so enjoyed the weekend and can't wait till next year when DoriGrace can "run" with the rest!

Thank you SO much for your work on the organizing front. I want to help next year!!!
